JKP wrestler Rajesh lifts 13th Sarna Dangal title

Senior Citizens Des Raj, Munshi Ram honoured

KATRA: Wrestler Rajesh of J&K Poice lifted 13th annual Sarna Dangal Title 2023 by defeating wrestler Choota Muneer of Domel in the main bout that lasted for 17 minutes at village Sarna in tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
Winner wrestler Rajesh Sharma was awarded with Rs. 6,000 while runner-up wrestler Choota Muneer got Rs. 5,000.
Dangal was organized by Sarna Dangal committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Som Raj, Ex Naib Sarpanch and Sarpanch Avinash Singh.
BJP District President and social activist Rohit Dubey was the chief guest on the occasion who witnessed wrestling bout and encouraged the youths. Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and Senior Vice President Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Ex. President Sat Guru Kabir Sabha Reasi, Surinder Kumar Bhagat, AE PHE, Sandeep Chandan and ASI Fazal Shokar were the Guests of Honour.
Sarpanch Jugal Kishore (Bablu) Ex. Sarpanch Omkar Singh, Baldev Singh, Ex-Sarpanch, Bishan Dass, Member senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.) Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were the prominent persons present on the occasion.
In all, 56 wrestlers participated in the one day long Dangal in which 28 bouts were played and an amount of Rs. 83,000 distributed among the wrestlers by the Chief Guest Rohit Dubey and Shiv Kumar Sharma.
The bouts were officiated by Naresh Kumar (Pappu lakri), Deepak Wazir, Pawan Kumatr Sharma, Samlok Pahalwan, Kishori Lal and Murli Dhar Munna.
Rohit Dubey contributed Rs. 31,000, Som Raj Naib Sarpanch Rs. 11,000 and Sarpanch Jugal Kishore (Bablu) Rs. 5,100 as financial assistance to the organisers.
second main bout was won by Subash of Chopra Shop, Udhampur who defeated Billa of Jammu. Winner Subash got Rs. 5,000 while runner-up wrestler Billa got Rs. 4,000. Third bout was won by Jamat Ali of Nagrota who defeated Shamsher Singh of R S Pura. Winner Jamat Ali got Rs. 4,000 while runner-up Shamsher Singh got Rs. 3,000.
Shiv Kumar Sharma honoured two prominent social worker and most senior Citizens present in the Dangal namely Des Raj, age 80 years and Munshi Ram, age 80 years (Both from village Sarna) by presenting them Mata Ki Chunari.
Members of Dangal Committee Sarna who helped in the conduct of Dangal were Som Raj (President), Sarpanch Avinash Singh, Balwant Singh, Omkar Singh, Des Raj Ravi Kumart, Falail Singh, Ram Singh Numberdar, Abdul Rehman (Panch), Sat Paul Sharma, Tirath Ram Sharma, Gopal Krishan, Pawan Kumar, Komal Sharma, Nayaj Ali, Karnail Singh, Bashir Ahmed (Panch), Vikram Singh, Puran Chand, Abdul Rehman, Shotu Sharma, Abdul Rashid and Bir Bahadur Singh.
