JAMMU: Chairperson, Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), Bharti Vaid, on Monday informed that Jammu and Kashmir Police is going to organise two-day Diwali Mela at Gulshan Ground here on October 15 and 16, 2017.
Chairing a meeting at GO Mess here, Bharti Vaid said that the Mela is expected to be full of fun and frolic with a number of highlights and activities.
Besides eatables for different taste buds, an amusement park is being established for different age groups, she said adding that stalls for different utility and gift items are also being put up, which will be sold on affordable rates.
Activities like fancy dress show and fashion show etc. are also being held, in which exciting gifts will be given to the winners, she disclosed.
Various cultural events will be presented by various renowned artists, singers and clubs for the entertainment of the public, especially for the youngsters, she added.
Chairperson PWWA revealed that entry for the Mela is going to be free for the general public. Participants are also expected to receive surprise prizes.
Various committees headed by S.A Watali, IGP Armed Jammu Zone and other senior officers have been formed to make proper arrangements, so that the Mela is a grand success.
