JKP to hold ‘Udhampur Olympics’ from Feb 11

UDHAMPUR: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Shailendra Mishra on Wednesday said that Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) is going to organise Sports Festival ‘Udhampur Olympics’ under its Civic Action Programme.
“The objective of JKP in organising such sports events is to keep the youth engaged in constructive and productive activities,” he said adding that this will not only keep them physically fit but also keep them away from the menace of drug addiction and other crimes/anti-social activities. He was addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.
SSP informed that about 3,000 youths of Udhampur shall be participating in 13 events including athletics and cultural. “Qualifiers of event are already been conducted in four venues here. However, the formal inaugural function of this tournament will be held at DPL Udhampur on 11th February, 2017,” he informed.
