JKP focusing on quality education of police wards: DGP

SRINAGAR: The Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has reiterated that welfare of police wards is one of the top most priorities of the organisation to infuse spirit of competition among them and boost their morale. He said that the organisation is proud of those wards of brave martyrs, who excel in different competitive examinations. He assured that the organization will provide every assistance to these wards in promoting their talent.
While sanctioning scholarships in favour of wards of police martyrs, the DGP said that the parents have sacrificed their lives for the integrity of the State and it is due to their supreme sacrifices that we have succeeded in bringing peace and normalcy in the State. He said that the martyrs laid down their present for our future and it is prime duty of Jammu and Kashmir Police origination to take care of their wards. The department has realised its responsibility and has been assisting these wards under various welfare schemes to lead a prosperous life.
Rajendra said that among various welfare schemes, the wards of martyrs are provided free education and hostel facilities in police public schools at Srinagar and Jammu. Free coaching for professional courses is also provided to these wards so that they could excel in these courses. The scholarships are provided to the wards from the primary level regularly so that they could nourish their talent in education, he added.
Announcing the scholarships in favour of wards of deceased police personnel today which include Rohini Sharma, a student of M.V.Sc. 1st year, son of late Deputy Superintendent of Police, Davinder Kumar Sharma, Akhil Khajuria and Ashish Khajuria, B.Tech students, sons of late Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghani Sham Khajuria, the DGP has stressed upon the wards to excellence in different examinations.
