‘JKNPP will not allow shifting of AIIMS from Jammu’

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Urging upon the people of Tehsil Majalta to lend their support to the movement for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh on Wednesday said that JKNPP shall not allow the BJP to surrender the premier health institute, sanctioned for Jammu, to Kashmir at any cost.
Comparing the BJP with a rudderless ship, Harsh said that the mandated leaders of the party not only lacked direction but had failed to address the concerns of their electorates who had been cajoled with delusive promises during elections. Accusing the BJP leaders of abandoning their representative character, Singh regretted that the Saffron Ministers and legislators had relinquished the very slogans which catapulted them to power only to appease their Kashmir centric masters.
While addressing a public rally in Majalta, Harsh said that BJP which had won by fluke, bluff and blusters had failed to project the cause of its political constituency in the Assembly and outside. He said that the JKNPP was not opposed to any region but believed in equitable treatment to all regions of the State. He said that the Party’s fight was against denied parity, miscarried justice and for balanced allocation of State resources. He said that JKNPP was only agitating against the shifting of AIIMS sanctioned for Jammu to Kashmir and not against provision of a new AIIMS to Kashmir if the government so desired. He said that BJP leaders who were twisting and turning by making contradictory statements as a measure of face saving were only befooling themselves. He said that the people were wise enough to see through the game plan of BJP leaders who had failed to allay the ingrained perception in Jammu that the Saffron Party has sold its principles for power.
Dwelling upon the local issues of the area, Harsh expressed grave concern over the large scale damages of power transformers in various villages and gross negligence of concerned officers in ensuring their repairs, unscheduled power cuts, acute deficiency of staff in schools and Health centers, non-payment of salaries to ReTs and other teachers, non provision of ration in majority of villages besides complaints of sale of medicine by government health centres in various villages. He further announced to launch a protest in case the salaries of teachers pending for last several months were not released at the earliest.
Senior JKNPP leader and member working committee, Manju Singh flayed the new recruitment policy and urged upon the youth and students to unite to wage a decisive battle for the revocation of the same.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Raghubir Singh, Basharat Ali, Dina Nath, Dharam Singh, Simran Dev, Bishan Dass, Kuldeep Singh, Neeraj Kesar, Kulbhushan Singh, Dr. Romesh Singh and Mohan Lal Gupta.
