JAMMU: Two workshops in home science and social sciences were conducted at Curriculum Development and Research Wing (JD) of J and K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) in connection with the review and revision of syllabus of home science and incorporation of two new components i.e. Economics and Disaster Management in Social Studies of class 10th respectively.
The curriculum development and research wing is striving hard for enhancing the academic standard by conducting workshops for the improvisation of curriculum from time to time under the expertise of outstanding academicians and the teams of experts from all fields including schools, colleges and universities.
The workshop for incorporation of economics and disaster management was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) S.K Pandita and Prof. (Dr) Jasbir Singh (Department of Economics) and the team of experts included Dr R.K Jangral, Dr Vineeta Kumari, Neelam Kumari Sharma, Jagdev Singh, Atul Jain and Ranjeet Singh Manhas. Monica Sharma acted as Workshop Coordinator for Economics and Disaster Management.
The workshop in Home Science was conducted under the guidance of Aruna Dubey from GCW Parade, Neelam Bhagat from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Renu Dhar from GCW Gandhi Nagar. The team of experts included Asiya Khan, Sandhra Malhotra, Parveen, Neelam Gupta and Nirmula Thakur. Rita Gupta acted as workshop coordinator for Home Science.
Chairman JKBOSE along with Director, Academics lauded the work of experts and congratulated Deputy Director Academics and workshop coordinators for conducting the workshops to develop the material according to the need of time and students.
