JKAACL organises Dogri literary seminar

REASI: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a Dogri literary seminar at Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys), Reasi in collaboration with Director School Education, Jammu. Gopal Krishan Komal, Senior Dogri writer presided over the programme and Bishan Singh Jaral, Chief Education Officer, Reasi was the Chief Guest. Prof. Shiv Nirmohi, eminent Dogri writer and scholar, Sudershan Pandoh, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys), Reasi, Rajinder Singh, Information Officer, Reasi and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary,  Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present in the presidium.

While speaking on the occasion, Bishan Singh Jaral appreciated the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organising  Dogri seminar at Reasi and said that this activity will encourage the students and youth to understand the value of heritage and traditional folk alongwith the literature being written in District Reasi.

Gopal Krishan Komal congratulated all the paper presenters, who in detail elaborated the contribution to Dogri literature in district Reasi with special reference to poetry, short-story, novel and playwright.

Earlier in his welcome address, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that as per the decisions and directions from Ministry of Culture, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages collaborating with Director School Education, Jammu has scheduled number of cultural activities in all districts of Jammu region involving students and youth of the respective area.

Rajinder Singh, Information Officer, Reasi also spoke on the occasion. Yash Paul Nirmal, Asst. Editor, Dogri Dictionary, JKAACL conducted the proceedings of the programme while Sh. Sudershan Pandoh presented Vote of Thanks.

Those who presented their papers include Ashu Sharma (Zila Reasi Da Dogri Upanayas-Ik Jayza), Raj Rahi (Zila Reasi Da Dogri Natak -Ik Jayza), Kuldeep Mengi (Zila Reasi Di Dogri Kavita Da Yogdaan) and Ritu Kumar Sharma (Zila Reasi Di Dogri Kahani -Ik Jayza).

The Book Exhibition of Academy publications was also exhibited in the premises of the school and the students, staff and local writers took keen interest in purchasing the said publications of the Academy.

Those who recited their poetry in the concluding session include Babu Bhatti, Braham Saroop, Tariq Bhat, Kuldeep Kumar Mengi, Bansi Lal Kerni, Mohd. Rashid, Kusum Kumari, Mohd. Akram Khan, Dr. Pawan Khajuria, Puran Chand, Pankaj Sharma, Rajesh Dogra, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Mohinder Dass, Dharam Paul, Bishan Dass, Deepak Kesar, Javaid Iqbal, Raj Kumari, Dara Singh and Raj Mohd.
