J&K XI lost to Delhi in thrilling semifinal of NZ Veteran T20 C’ship

FARIDABAD: Veteran Cricket Association J&K XI lost the thrilling semifinals of North Zone Veteran T20 Cricket Championship by 10 runs to star studded Veteran Cricket Association of Delhi which included former India & Ranji Players.
The tournament is being organised by Haryana Cricket Veteran Association under the aegis of Board for Veteran Cricket in India at Sledge Hammer Cricket Academy Faridabad. Haryana.
Vivek Suri, Captain of Veteran Cricket Association J&K, won the toss and put Veteran Cricket Association of Delhi to bat first.
Sanjeev Sharma former India player & Pradeep Chawla started on the brisk mode and contributed 23 runs for first wicket. Veteran Cricket Association Delhi scored 130 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
Sanjeev Sharma scored 40 runs and Suresh Kohli former Delhi Ranji player scored 25 runs.
For Veteran Cricket Association J&K, Nasir grabbed three wickets while Sunil Jalla and Susheetal Dhar claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Veteran Cricket Association J&K XI started on a disastrous note as top 2 players want early when score was 15 runs. But Sunil Sharma and Saleem Khan send Delhi bowlers on a leather hunt with towering shots all around the Ground.
At one stage VCAJK needed 37 runs in 30 balls but Suresh Kohli make quick inroads by picking four crucial wickets restricted Veteran Cricket Association J&K to 120 runs thereby entering into finals by a margin of 10 runs.
Sunil Sharma and Saleem scored 32 and 33 runs respectively. Suresh Kohli picked four wickets whereas Sanjeev Saini, Arun, Dinesh and Kapil Mehta scalped one wicket each.
Veteran Cricket Association of Delhi will play against Haryana Veteran Cricket Association for North Zone Championship trophy.
