J&K women lose to Gujarat 1-2

JAMMU: Though they made it a 2-1 win, but it was not an easy outing for Gujarat against Jammu and Kashmir in a group-A league tie in the ongoing Seventh Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Women) ‘B’ Division at Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu.
As per the reports reaching here, J and K lost 1-2 to Gujarat in their third outing of the four-game league round. Hetaxi Patel scored the opener for Gujarat in the sixth minute. Ishta Sharma brought in the equaliser via a penalty corner conversion in the 48th minute. In the 53rd minute Hockey Gujarat found a winner via Prachi Nikam to earn three points.
With today’s third loss in the league round, J and K women could not make it to the knock-out stages of the competition. Earlier, in their opening tie, J and K lost to Assam 0-6.
Other Results: Hockey Coorg beat Gujarat 17-0; Hockey Academy defeated Hockey Puducherry 16-1; Hockey Bhopal outplayed Hockey Uttarakhand 6-1; Hockey Rajasthan trounced Goans Hockey 3-1.
