JAMMU: The poor batting, followed by unsuccessful bowling spells landed J and K in troubled waters on day-two of the ongoing Ranji Trophy Group-A tie against Tamil Nadu at NPR College Ground, Dindgul on Monday.
The failure of J and K in both batting and bowling departments allowed Tamil Nadu take a healthy 122 runs first innings lead. When the stumps were drawn, Tamil Nadu was already 321 runs ahead of J and K with nine wickets remaining in their second innings.
After bowling out J and K for a small total of 132 runs, Tamil Nadu started their innings on a confident note setting the scoreboard moving with 199 runs for the loss of one wicket in 49 overs. A Mukund and B Aparajith were at the crease with 110 and 53 runs in their respective accounts.
Earlier, except for Hardeep Singh, who made highest 35 runs and remained unbeaten, no other batsman could face the bowling wrath of Tamil Nadu.
Now, with two days play still remaining, J and K may not be able to recover from the prevailing difficult conditions.
