JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board on Thursday convened 177th Board meeting under the chairmanship of its Chairman to consider various matters pertaining to withheld recommendation, cancellation of selections and release of selection list for various posts. The meeting was attended by members of J&K SSB, Shafiq Chak, Harvinder Kour, Pritamlal Atri and Ashiq Hussain Lily, Secretary, Sachin Jamwal, Special Secretary, Law, Jang Bahadur, Deputy Secretary, Vinay Khosla and other officers of the Board.
During the meeting, various issues relating to withheld recommendation cases of UT Cadre, divisional cadre (Jammu /Kashmir), district cadre and PM Package (migrants), cancellation of selections for various posts and pending selection list for certain posts were brought for consideration of the Board. In addition, the cases of overlapping/dual degrees were also deliberated upon in the meeting.
After due deliberation and discussion it was decided by the Board to release withheld recommendation in respect of 26 candidates relating to various posts for which the shortcomings /deficiencies have been completed by the candidates. Besides, 28 cases as placed before the Board were deferred for re-examination due to qualification related issues and other deficiencies. Moreover, the Board also decided to reject the candidature of 28 candidates due to non-possession of the requisite prescribed qualification/eligibility criteria on or before the prescribed cut-off date.
Further, the Board also decided to cancel selections of 8 candidates as prior multiple notices have already been served upon the concerned candidates regarding cancellation of their candidature as same remained absent when called for document verification and in others the eligibility criteria(s) was not fulfilled.
Apart from this, the Board approved selection of 12 candidates for various posts advertised at different points of time and also decided to return 24 post to the Indenting Department due to non-availability of eligible candidates against the said advertised posts. In addition, 10 Court cases were also deliberated upon during the meeting and appropriate decisions in light of the directions of Courts were taken for their timely disposal by the Board.
