Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded 257 new COVID-19 cases, while four fatalities took place in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,18,263 and the death toll to 1,841, officials said.
Out of the fresh cases, 113 were from Kashmir and 144 were from Jammu Division of the union territory, they said.
The officials said Jammu recorded the highest of 98 cases, followed by 36 in Srinagar district.
The number of active cases dropped to 3,854 in the union territory as 475 patients recovered from the infection. A total of 1,12,568 patients have recovered so far, the officials said.
Meanwhile, the union territory reported four COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours – three from Jammu and one from the Kashmir region. The death toll due to the pandemic has now reached 1,841.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 1,18,263 positive cases, 3,854 are Active Positive, 1,12,568 have recovered and 1,841 have died; 675 in Jammu division and 1,166 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 35,28,248 test results available, 34,09,985 samples have been tested as negative till December 20, 2020.
Till date 8,47,084 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,989 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,854 in isolation and 26,581 in home surveillance. Besides, 7,93,819 persons have completed their surveillance period.
