JK Public School Panjtirthi celebrates World No Tobacco Day

JAMMU: World No Tobacco Day was celebrated at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi, portraying that smoking and consuming tobacco can have a terrible impact on Health.
The day started with an introduction by Shipra Gupta who took the opportunity to sensitize the Jakians about the high prevalence of tobacco use among youth.
She added that women and children are also most vulnerable to the hazards of second hand smoke and it is essential to save the mankind from this destruction.
Jakiians raised the slogan “make the right choice choose life, Not tobacco.
Jakiians emphasized, “Tobacco consumption causes cancer of many body parts like the throat, lungs, oesophagus, larynx, mouth, pancreas and so on. More than one crore people die every year due to tobacco consumption.”
All the participants took a pledge that they will spread this message to everyone to make this Earth a better place to live in.
On this occasion, Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah said, ” I feel that this event has come as a beacon light which will help our students to grow and develop holistically, mentally and physically. It was indeed a very informative and a fruitful event”
The Principal conducted a quiz on No Tobacco Day asking few questions such as dangers of consuming tobacco, threats of tobacco, tobacco free Nation and city, ways to quit tobacco etc. and the winners were awarded with cash prizes.
