JK Public School Panjtirthi celebrates ‘World Book Day’

JAMMU: JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi celebrated ‘World Book Day’ in the premises with great fervour.
The programme commenced with an oration by Suman Jamwal. She acquainted the audience with the grandeur of books. She said books are depositories of heritage, culture, window of knowledge and source of wealth. She explained “An idle mind is a devil’s workshop and if you want to keep yourself off from this devil, give yourself to reading books.”
She highlighted that books are not only the best companions in the solitude but they are the store house of knowledge, which illustrate progressive pathways of an individual.
It was followed by an act presented by the Jakiians which brought forward the life history of the books.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi Suman Banbah revealed that books play a great part in making of our character and personality. It is therefore advisable that we should make a wise choice of books to acquire useful knowledge and to build an appreciable character and personality.
She added, “The books guide a man in achieving success in various walks of life, professions and they assist to get proficiency in work. In brief we can say that the books have great value in reconstructing the society and influencing individuals in all spheres of life. For the better use of books, every member of the society should be educated. In leisure it is only the book that gives a harmless company. So make books your bosom friends.”
Celebrations are meaningless unless and until each child understands the depth of celebrations.
To enhance the listening and learning power of Jakiians and Secondly to make celebrations meaningful the Principal herself asked questions to students pertaining the celebration.
