JAMMU: Girl child day – A day to celebrate the strength, resilience, and potential of girls while promoting their rights and opportunities. National Girl Child Day is celebrated to give girls a better position in Indian society.
National Girl Child Day was celebrated at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi with much enthusiasm.
The day aims to focus on the importance of girls’ education, their rights, and promoting gender equality. It urges the global community to move beyond reaffirming commitments and invest boldly in the action needed to make changes that could empower girls. The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi Suman Banbah commenced the celebration and expressed, “Multiple initiatives and campaigns have been implemented by the Indian government for the betterment of the girls. Plans such as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Post Office Term Deposit Plans, Balika Samriddhi Yojana etc. are there to fulfill the dreams of higher education and a prosperous career of a girl child.”
Anju Sharma, the celebration Incharge highlighted that girls should be treated equally and should get all the opportunities in our society for the welfare of the Nation as a whole.
Jakiians lauded slogans like “Don’t kill Girl in Womb when she might bring Country to Gloom”, “Don’t let their lives End before it even Begins”.
