JK Public School Panjtirthi celebrates Food Safety Day

JAMMU: Unsafe food is the cause of various diseases and it contributes to other poor health conditions including impaired growth and development, micronutrient deficiencies, communicable or non-communicable diseases, and mental illness.
With the same motive, World Food Safety Day was celebrated at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi with fervour.
Surekha Bajju commenced the celebration and expressed, “Access to safe food is key to sustaining life and promoting good health. Food safety has a critical role in assuring that food must stays safe at every stage of the food chain – from production to harvest, processing, storage, distribution, all the way to preparation and consumption.”
Jakiians recited poems on the theme “Food safety is a shared responsibility between governments, producers, and consumers.”
Jakiians highlighted the CG theme of World Food Safety Day 2023 -“Food Standards Save Lives’.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah expressed,” Today’s celebration is an opportunity to strengthen efforts to ensure that the food we eat should be safe to reduce the burden of food borne diseases globally.”
