JAMMU: The primary objective of school education is to train the students, to be prospective leaders. To help them feel the sense of responsibility, the newly elected council of JK Public School Kunjwani was sworn in at an impressive ceremony held at the Nelsum Exquisite Millennium Hall of the school, here on Saturday.
After a traditional welcome, the school choir set the tone for the programme through the school song.
The Principal, S.K Singh expressed gratitude to the Chairman, Raj Daluja as well as the parents for gracing the occasion with their presence, and went on to motivate the new office bearers with words of encouragement.
The students inducted in the main council are Aahwaan Gupta (Head Boy), Riya Choudhary (Head Girl), Udhav Singh (Vice Head Boy), Sanskriti Singh (Vice Head Girl), Jainesh Singh (Sports Captain Boys), Riya Saini (Sports Captain Girls), Vanshika Manhas (Vice Sports Captain Girls), Chirag Gupta (Vice Sports Captain Boys), Aryan Sharma (Captain Cultural Boys), Khushboo Khajuria (Captain Cultural Girls), Ankeshwar Singh (Vice Captain Cultural Boys), Cheryl Malhotra (Vice Captain Cultural Girls), Nandit Mahajan (Captain Discipline Boys), Shalvi Vikram (Captain Discipline Girls), Bharat V. Khullar (Vice Captain Discipline Boys) and Samriti Sharma (Vice Captain Discipline Girls).
In addition 14 students each from Tilak House, Bhagat Singh House and Radha Krishnan House were inducted as Perfect and Vice Perfect of their houses.
A total of 72 new members were given their sashes and sworn in, beginning with the Head Boys Aahwan Gupta and Head Girl Riya Choudhary.
The student council members were presented sashes by respective parents, which was indeed an emotional moment for majority of them.
In his address, Brigadier Sukhdev Singh, Director JK Educational Society, stated that the elected members of the school council should be ready to deal with new responsibilities, keeping the morale values upright.
Later on, oath was administered by the new office bearers promising to work for the betterment of the school as well as glorify the school’s name in every field.
The Vice Principal, Puneet Kour read out the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
