JK Public School Kunjwani celebrates 77th Independence Day

JAMMU: India began its trust with destiny of 15 Aug 1947 – indeed a red letter day in the history of India. On this day, Indians broke the shackles of British Slavery. On this day, new vistas opened on the horizon of India. That is why; this day is celebrated with great pomp and gaiety in every nook and corner of the country. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Nation First; Always First”. Like every year, this year also, on the eve of 77th Independence Day, JK Public School Kunjwani celebrated Independence Day with zeal and fervor. The whole campus reverberated with the songs infusing national feelings colourful tri-colour flags and balloons fluttered all around which looked like decorative festoons, glorifying our national heroes who had laid their lives at the altar of India’s independence. The function began with the hoisting of the national flag by Director JK Educational Society, Shashi Chaudhary and Principal Rajesh Rathore while the soulful rendition of the National Anthem reverberated in the whole atmosphere as the whole school joined the choir. Later, a mesmerizing song was sung by the Choir to honour the valour and bravery of those who made the supreme sacrifice to make our great nation independent. Students took a pledge to safeguard their Mother land. Patriotic songs instilled a feeling of love for the Mother land. The Kathak dances set the stage ablaze with their scintillating performance. The toddlers also danced to show their love for the Mother India. Chief Guest Shashi Chaudhary in her address paid obeisance to the great freedom fighters, who had laid the foundation of a new India. She inspired the students to rise to the occasion and learn to stand united to create a society that would uphold freedom, liberty and justice for all. Principal Rajesh Rathore talked of the supreme sacrifices of the great martyrs for their motherland. He appreciated the commendable role played by the Prefects’ Council in putting up a great show. He applauded Master Angad Singh, the Head Boy & Radhika Bhan, the School Head Girl. He highlighted the role of brilliant anchors in making this day a huge success, namely, Master Adit Sharma, Master Avikam Sharma & their anchoring team members. The entire anchoring was conducted in English, Hindi & Urdu, which enthralled the audience beyond measure. The programme instilled nationalistic fervor in one and all.
