JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir men’s team won their group match beating Tripura in 3-1 (25-16, 25-17, 26-28, 25-18) in the ongoing 65th Senior National Volleyball Championship (men and women) at Chennai in Tamil Nadu, on Monday.
As per the reports reaching here, J and K spikers Imtiaz, Sushil Shokqut, Amir, Jaffar and Zorwar Singh displayed their skills including spikes efficiently and enthralled the audience.
In another match, J and K lost to Bihar. Jammu and Kashmir men’s team will meet Chandigarh in the next match of the pool. In the meantime, the State women team lost to Gujarat.
The J and K team left under the banner of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir is playing under the guidance of State volleyball coaches.
In a message sent to teams, President Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja congratulated the boys’ team and officials for their excellent performance in the national championship and exhorted them to continue their efforts in achieving further success in the championship.
