J&K meets Rajasthan in Ranji Trophy opener on Oct 6

Jammu hosts 3 Ranji ties this season

JAMMU: With Ranji Trophy season starting from October 6, Jammu, the winter capital of the State shall be hosting three first class matches this season at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
In the opener, J and K, placed in Group-B, is scheduled to meet Rajasthan on October 6 at Jaipur. It will be followed by the second tie between J and K and Saurashtra at Rajkot on October 14, as per the schedule released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The next two games against Gujarat and Kerela shall take place in Jammu on October 24 and November 1 respectively. The fifth game, against Jharkhand, shall be played at Jamshedpur on November 9. The sixth and the final game is scheduled to be held at Jammu against Haryana on November 17.
Meanwhile, engulfed by the prolonged litigations and disqualifications of the almost entire Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), following the Lodha Committee recommendations, the State has yet to name its team for the prestigious cricket tournament of the country.
For the first time, the 25 boys from Jammu picked by the office bearers (Jammu Wing) and not the selectors, left for Srinagar two days back to join their counterparts for the final selection.
And, with just two days remaining to leave for the venue in Jaipur (Rajasthan) to take on hosts Rajasthan on October 6, the non-existent JKCA is yet to name the team.
