JAMMU: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) and MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, after releasing a booklet titled ‘Poverty to Prosperity’ published by Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development Corporation, containing details related to various welfare schemes for the weaker sections, said that this public enterprise has turned into a vibrant organisation of the government doing good job in making people aware about enormous schemes of the Narendra Modi government aimed at socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections.
The booklet was released by Union MoS in presence of Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, Managing Director, Veerji Hangloo, Corporation FA/CAO, Mohammed Yaseen and General Manager, Gulam Qadir Khatana.
Singh said that there had been complaints in the past during the regime of previous government that the genuinely deserving people from among the weaker sections are not getting the benefit of the welfare schemes but today it is indeed a matter of satisfaction that J&K SC, ST, BC, Development Corporation has reached the remote and far flung areas of the state and like other States of the country, SCs, STs, BCs and other sections in Jammu and Kashmir too are getting maximum benefits of the welfare schemes by the Modi government. He said that this could happen only with the sincere efforts of the Vice Chairperson and the officials of the Corporation, which indicates their concern for the betterment of the Target Groups.
Balbir Ram Rattan, on this occasion, said that “Poverty to Prosperity” is not merely a slogan or a phrase but it is a basic line on which corporation works to eliminate poverty and bring prosperity in the lives of the members of reserved categories.
Managing Director, Veerji Hangloo, assured the Union MoS to put more efforts in identifying more and more people who need benefits of the welfare schemes of the government and extend financial help to them in setting up of own earning units to earn livelihood.
