J&K logs 25 COVID cases, Ladakh 5

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday logged 25 new COVID cases, 13 from Jammu division and 12 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 454398.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 454398 positive cases, 113 are Active Positive (80 in Jammu Division and 33 in Kashmir Division), 449526 have recovered and 4752 have died; 2328 in Jammu division and 2424in Kashmir division.
Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases during the past 24 hours, the Bulletin stated that Jammu reported 13 cases and Srinagar reported 12 cases while no other district across the Union Territory reported any fresh case.
Meanwhile, Ladakh has reported five fresh coronavirus cases, raising the infection tally to 28,296, officials said.
The new cases were detected in Leh, they said.
On the bright side, two more patients recovered from the infection, the officials said.
The death toll remained unchanged at 228 — 168 deaths from Leh and 60 from Kargil.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ladakh has climbed to 22 — 20 in Leh district and two in Kargil district.
So far, 28,043 patients have recovered from coronavirus in Ladakh, the officials said.
While a total of 201 sample reports were tested in Ladakh, 169 sample reports in Leh and 27 sample reports in Kargil were found to be negative.
