JAMMU: After remaining passive for a long time alliance partners BJP and PDP suddenly became active amid high hopes of revival of peace parleys at the highest level, ahead of taking a final call over the formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Despite all the hullabaloo, a formal meeting between the alliance partners could not materialise to iron out the differences.
Inside reports from BJP camp revealed that the central party leaders were expected to review the political situation in the state ahead of election campaign in the poll bound states of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, also camping in New Delhi, was expected to remain present during the crucial meeting likely to be convened by the party President Amit Shah.
So far no schedule has been fixed for possible meeting between the PDP and BJP leaders at the highest level, BJP leaders privy to fast paced developments revealed.
On the PDP front, Mehbooba Mufti was expected to share her view point with the BJP representatives informally in the company of other PDP leaders before meeting BJP top brass, if need be.
She was insisting on meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi but her meeting was yet to be organised.
In Jammu, the State Unit leaders made it clear that the ball is in the court of the top brass of the BJP and the PDP.
“They are both expected to take the final call on the question of government formation very soon,” the State BJP leaders commented when quizzed persistently.
When asked whether BJP leadership has agreed to demands raised by the PDP Chief and ready to announce new CBMs to pacify the alliance partner, the State BJP leaders said, “No fresh CBM’s would be announced to gain support of PDP”.
“Whatever is listed out in the Agenda of Alliance, we only stand committed to fulfill the same. Nothing more nothing less than that”.
On the other hand, PDP leaders remained tight lipped over the swift developments in the wake of assurances given by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to complete the developmental projects already announced on the floor of the house on Monday.
