THIMPU (BHUTAN): J and K Cultural Group organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, performed two shows in Bhutan in connection with Bhutan’s National Day and also the 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the fourth Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan.
The first show was held at the Clock Tower Square, Thimphu where on a large stage the artists of Jammu and Kashmir vibrated the entire City of Thimphu with their magnifying performances. The people of Bhutan witnessed the first ever performance of the artists of Jammu and Kashmir and were thrilled to see the amazing diversity and vibrant colours of the cultures of J and K. Both the shows in Bhutan were hosted by Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in Bhutan.
The second show was held at DYS Auditorium where Lyonpo (Minister), Ngeema Sangay, Labour and Human Resource, Lyonmpo C. Dorji, and Lyonmpo Nado Rinzin from Royal Privy Council, Dashos DG Traditional Medicines, Chief Liberian, officers from Embassy of India and other distinguished guests attended the programme.
The troupe was led by Anil Tickoo and Malkit Chand, Director Indian Cultural Centre, Bhutan coordinated the shows. The artists of J and K who won accolades included, artists who are participating in this event included Anil Tickoo (Leader), Akash Dogra (Choreographer), Sunny Mujoo, Aarti Verma, Rocky, Rupali Rai, Sunakshi Gandotra, Srijna Bhasin, Deepak Kumar, Monika Sharma, Jyoti Kumari and Anita Kumari.
