JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir maintained the winning spree in the 23rd Mini National Volleyball Championship being held at Erode in Tamil Nadu. In today’s outing, J&K trounced Maharashtra in straight sets of 25-12, 26-24, 25-17 to consolidate their position in the quarterfinal round.
The Championship is being organized by Tamil Nadu State Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India.
For J and K, Rohit, Amaar, Imtiyaz and Murtaz displayed exceptional skills throughout the game. The boys’ team is accompanied by Mohd Tariq as coach and Subash Shastri as manager. On the other hand, J&K girls lost to Rajasthan 3-0 (11-25, 12-25, 08-25).
Now, in the next league match of group-B, J&K boys shall take on last year’s runner-up, Uttar Pradesh in next match while J and K girls will meet Kerala in ‘Pool C’ in the ensuing match.
The boys team is being guided by Mohd Tariq (Coach) and Subash Shastri (Manger) while in girls team Balwinder Singh Jamwal is working as Coach and Neelam Sharma as Manager.
President Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja has boosted the morale of players and officials by conveying his good wishes.
