J&K Bench Press meet held

JAMMU: Two-day J&K UT Bench Press Championship, organised by All J&K UT Power Lifting Association, concluded here on Tuesday with medal winners and those best lifters felicitated by Chief Guest, Sham Lal Bassan, Corporator in the presence of Special Guest, Arti Thakur, SHO Bahu Fort.
Around 180 participated contested in different age categories of men and women in this two-day competition representing districts of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Reasi, Kishtwar, Poonch, Budgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Ramban, claimed a handout issued by the Association.
Ankur Sharma Senior Advocate and Dushyant Sharma were the special guest who inaugurate the opening ceremony of the championship.
In this Championship Rubam Sharma, Amandeep Bassan and Ritu Charak won best lifter in Senior unequipped and equipped while, Tarandeep Singh, Anurag Magotra and Menu Kalotra won best lifter Junior unequipped and equipped, Suraj Singh, and Tania Sharma won best lifter in Sub Junior unequipped and equipped, Bimal Indu Sharma, Umesh Raina, Parveen Kumar and Rakhi Grover won best lifter in Master I & II Category.
Rubam Sharma, Vickramjeet Singh and Amandeep Bassan create new J&K U.T record in unequipped and equipped bench press championship breaking previous record of 105 kg, + 120 kg, 93 kg, category by lifting 200kg, 215 kg & 240 kg, respectively.
The officials of the association who organized J&K U.T Bench press Championship in well mannered under the rule and regulation of Power Lifting India, namely Ajay Sharma General Secretary, Rahul Sawhney Senior Vice President, Gulzar Singh Vice President, Adil Ashraf Khan, Sanjeev Singh Joint Secretary, Vinay Sharma Media Secretary and executive member of the association namely Suresh Pal, Deepak Jyoti, Sumit Gupta, Anshuman Sharma, Shabeel Ahmed, Azim Aslam, Joginder Kumar, Ajit Pal Singh, Sandeep Banmotra, Gourav Gupta, Karnail Choudhary, Narnender Pal Singh, Sajad Hussain, & Vishal Sharma.

WOMEN: Gold: Yatiksha Rao, Tania Sharma, Arshia Rajput, Riya Mahajan, Kusum Lata, Ritika Singh, Ritu Charak, Rakhi Grover, Shikha Rani, Priya Raina and Meenu Kalotra. Silver: Konika, Preeti Sharma and Tammana.
