JAMMU: Planning a career is like assembling the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Timely career guidance and counselling can steer your child in the right direction.
To help students to plan their career in a systematic and informed manner career planning workshops and career information talk was organised at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi by JIVA-connecting career to life for the students of class 10th and their parents.
The aim of organising the workshop was to enable the jakiians and their parents to understand their interest, aptitude, and potential, help them to understand the world of the work (Job Market), aware them about career alternatives based on their caliber and to assist them in career preparation and development.
The resource person was Abhishek Ghosh and Sonia.
They have worked both within India and outside India internationally. Currently Abhishek Ghosh is working as an Executive Director, with a US based multi-national Clinical Research Organization in Bangalore.
Guiding and mentoring students is his passion, Ghosh offers career guidance to students, so that students can think, choose and build happy and successful careers for themselves.
He involved the parents and students marvelously and the two way communication really served the purpose.
The parents also interacted confidently and came forward with their problems.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah said, “Career guidance for students enables deep inner exploration to understand their core interests, family influences, aptitude, personality, skills and attitudes. When children love the work they do, they are motivated, energised and confident, and will seize any opportunity that comes their way.”
