It is a stark reality that the government has been deprived of its prime land, Jammu city’s beauty has been defaced, its eco-system disturbed and plethora of pollution problems created for the Jammuites by the land mafia by hobnobing with the JDA.
This loot of government land even by the non-state subjects is in vogue in the Janipur area with impunity. JDA is sleeping over this lawlessness and open loot of the public/government property.
For, instance, a prime vacant JDA plot being used as a play field by the children, solemnising marriages of their daughters by the poor, dumping building materials by the locals and for parking and reversing of the vehicles was encroached upon by one Kewal Krishan resident of Punjab but retrieved by the then Khilafwarzi Officer JDA Ashok Kumar.
Thereafter, it has again been encroached upon by forging the sale/purchase documents despite the fact that the State land cannot be sold or purchased by any body, especially by the Non-State Subjects under law.
That when encroached upon the same land inDecember 2014, and the Khilafwarzi staff failed to remove the encroachement, the then VC JDA Madam Sushma Chohan IAS herself got the Chardiwari dismantled on 15th January 2015 got the JDA Land sign board erected there upon “Trespassers will be prosecuted”. But the said sign board was dismantled and defaced the same day and the JDA is sleeping over the matter.
What should be it called; “The helplessness of the JDA or its nexus with the Land Mafia”, Jammuites need an answer from the JDA.
