JDA BOCA clears 70 building cases

JAMMU: In order to clear the backlog of house building permissions, the Jammu Development Authority on Friday cleared 70 permission cases at a Building Operations Controlling Authority (BOCA) meeting held here.
The meeting was chaired by R.K Shavan, the Vice Chairman JDA and attended by members of BOCA. A total of 75 cases were placed before the committee and the BOCA has cleared 70 permission cases.
The Jammu Development Authority has taken a lot of initiatives to enforce the Jammu Master Plan 2032 and removed a number of unauthorised constructions, Khokhas lying in the area of jurisdiction.
The Vice Chairman JDA said that the Khilafwarzi Section of JDA has been instructed to act tough against the violators and book them under relevant laws.
The Jammu Development Authority has conducted two meetings of BOCA in short span to clear all cases so that public does not suffer. He has even issued a circular for the enforcement of Master Plan and directed the authorities of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committees to strictly adhere and enforce the Master Plan 2032 as the mandate of monitoring and supervision lies with JDA.
Complaints of blatant violations in the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation have been forwarded to concerned officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation for demolition failing which cases shall be placed before Competent Authorities for action against law.
It is pertinent to mention that the flying squads of Khilafwarzi constituted by the JDA have recently inspected the field and detected some gross violations of Master Plan wherein commercial structures have been built in residential area.
The meeting was attended by Director Land Management JDA, Chief Town Planner JDA, XEn PDD, XEn PHE DIV I and II and XEn PHE Rural Division, XEn Town Drainage Division and Chief Director PDD Inspection Division.
