Jan Dhan Yojana launched across the region

REASI: The district-level launch of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was held at the conference hall here on Thursday to coincide with its national-level launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. District Development Commissioner Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt inaugurated the district-level implementation of the scheme.
The launch of Yojana was attended by all the district officers, prominent citizens, members of PRIs, press and media persons.
DDC informed that the ambitious scheme aims to bring poor people in the ambit of financial programme of the government adding that financial literacy has been accorded priority under the PMJDY. A standardised financial literacy material has also been prepared in vernacular languages to create awareness about the Scheme (Yojana).
Different branches of the Public Sector Banks organised camps in rural and urban areas of Reasi. During these camps, counters of various banks were made available for massive account opening under the PMJDY scheme. It is estimated that about 1,000 accounts were opened on the very first day.


RAMBAN: DDC Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari on Thursday presided over an impressive ceremony for launching Jandhan Yojna at Maitra Ramban. This ceremony was held in synchronisation with the launching of the scheme by the Prime Minister of India at Central level.
The ceremony was attended by all the district officers, CDPOs, BDOs, ZEO Ramban, Lead Bank Officer Ramban and a huge gathering of senior citizens.
On this occasion debit cards were distributed by the DDC among one hundred account holders on spot. DDC congratulated people on the occasion and said that the people must come forward for ensuring cent percent financial inclusion in the country.
POONCH: Like other parts of India a mega camp under ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’ was organised at Krishan Chander Park Poonch, where various banks have installed their counters and opened account of the customers.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, M.H Malik speaking on the occasion briefed the audience about the features of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and appealed the people to open their accounts to get the benefit of the scheme. Over 4,000 new accounts were opened in the entire district under the scheme.
Representatives of various banks were also present on the occasion.
KATHUA: The nationwide launch of ‘Pardhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna’ scheme was also held in Kathua where District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, launched the scheme in an impressive function organised by State Bank of India ( Lead Bank) here at Kathua on Thursday.
The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp by DDC Kathua followed by welcome address of associate Lead Bank Officer R.K Kalsotra.
Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary while speaking on the occasion said the vision of incorporating Jan Dhan Yojna of Government of India is to give access of banking system to each and every family of the country.
Associate L.BO (lead bank) R.K Kalsotra also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion DDC also distributed pass books to new account holders. Stall drawn from different banks for the information and opening of new accounts were also established on the occasion.

UDHAMPUR: The ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’, an ambitious financial inclusion scheme under which the government intends to provide every household with a bank account and insurance cover, launched on Thursday in a special camp organised by Lead Bank.
The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal formally launched the Jan Dhan Scheme in the district after its nationwide launch.
Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, AGM, Anil Grover, Lead Bank Manager, SBI, K.K Khajuria, Cluster, Head J and K Bank, Iqbal Singh, DIO, Dr. Ashwani Hansa, XEn, PDD, CAHO, DSHO, Tehsildar territorial, senior officer of various departments, bankers and large number of people were present on the occasion.
Similarly, at Samba a function was organised for launch of Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojna today by the District Administration in closed coordination of banks where all the line departments participated at Conference Hall Nandni Hills Samba.
The camp was attended by ADDC Samba – Vivek Sharma, ADC-Inderjeet, ACR-M Y Malik, CPO-Devinder Singh, besides CMO, CEO, Tehsildars, BDOs, CDPOs and representatives of various banks besides large number of people including Sarpanchs, Panchs, Prominent citizens of the district also attended the camp and got benefit of this scheme.
The District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mubarak Singh inaugurated the camp by the lighting of ceremonial lamp and impressed upon the officers present and representatives of banks to work in a coordinated manner to make all possible effort to achieve 100 per cent financial inclusion of all households in the district.
It was informed by the Lead Bank Manager Samba that more than ten thousand new bank accounts have been opened today and the numbers shall increase in coming days when the message will disseminate at every village of the district. During the function pass books were also distributed by the DDC to more than 100 new account holders.
DODA: Like other districts the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was also launched in district Doda by District Development Commissioner Doda Shyam Vinod Meena.
While speaking on the occasion DDC highlighted the various features of the new programme namely universal access to banking facilities, providing basic saving bank accounts of every adult citizen with over draft facility and Rupay Debit Card, financial literacy programme, creation of credit Guarantee fund, microfinance and unorganised sector pension schemes like Swavalamban and explained how this programme will remove the deficiencies in present financial exclusion plan in the district.
At Kishtwar Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), was today launched in by DDC Kishtwar Mohd Javed Khan.
The main function was organised at TRC Kishtwar in which Khan formally inaugurated the scheme by lightening the traditional lamp in presence of district officers, Cluster head JK Bank ,LBM and officers of SBI,JK Bank, JCC, PNB, NABARD and HDFC.
