REASI: Wrestler Dillar Khan of J&K Police lifted 68th Annual Kanjali (Reasi) Dangal title defeating Murad Ali of Nagrota in Jammu in the main bout that took place at village Kanjali in district Reasi.
The day-long wrestling event was organized by Kanjali Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of former Sarpanch, Sukhdev Singh (president) and Ram Singh (chairman).
Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and president Kreeda Bharati J&K, Shiv Kumar Sharma was Chief Guest while Romesh Chander Sharma and Rashpaul Singh (Bittu) were Guests of Honour.
The winner of the main bout Dillar Khan awarded with cash prize of Rs.10,000 while runners-up Murad Ali got Rs Rs. 7,000. The 2nd main bout won by Billu (Rs 8,000) of Jagati Nagrota, who defeated Balwan Singh (Rs 6,000) of J&K Police. The third main bout won by Javed Khan of Akhnoor beating Subhu of Delhi, while fourth bout went to Balli of Jammu, who downed Teg Singh of Reasi.
The bouts were officiated by Manjoor Hussain, Lal Singh, Punjab Singh, Vijay Singh and Murli Dhar (Munna) and the proceedings were conducted by former Sarpanch, Sukhdev Singh and Manjoor Hussain.
In all, total 41 bouts played in this Dangal with Rs 1.75 lakh prize money. Members of Kanjali Dangal committee who helped for smooth conduct of Dangal included former Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh (president) former Naib Sarpanch, Ram Singh, (chairman) Rattan ( Ex. Panch) Saleem Khan, Punjab Singh (Ex. Panch), Prittam Singh (Panch) Krishan Kishore Sharma.
Prominent persons present on the occasion included BJP Dhansar Mandal General Secretary, Sudershan Singh, Youva Morcha, president Vipan Kumar, Contractor, Pawan Sharma, Rajinder Singh Numberdar, Janak Singh and Numberdar Rattan Singh.
