Jammu Volleyball player becomes Army officer

JAMMU: Former J&K Volleyball and Badminton player, Niteshi Saini has become Commissioned officer in the Indian Officer. Subsequently, she has got her first posting in Ladakh. Before joining her place of posting, Niteshi was invited by her Club, Trikuta Volleyball Club at Shastri Nagar Play Fields, where once she (Niteshi) trained a part of the J&K team. She interacted with young female spikers at the ground, who extended her a warm reception and exhibited their talent in a friendly match played between Trikuta Volleyball Club and Army Public School Domana girls.
“It was my dream to play for India in either of the two sports disciplines of Volleyball and Badminton, I practiced as a young girl or join the Army. My wished has been fulfilled and today I’m an Indian Army Officer. Hope, a couple of girls today get inspired by my achievement and put in extra hard work to achieve their goal in life,” said Niteshi speaking on the occasion.
She expressed her thanks to coach and secretary of the Trikuta Volleyball Club, Mulkh Raj Sharma for the honour. The event was also joined by veteran volleyball player and president of the District Jammu Volleyball Association, H S Gill and other senior functionaries of the Volleyball Association of J&K.
