JAMMU: People from various localities on Saturday come out on roads and staged separate protests against the State Coalition Government which has failed to provide basic amenities.
Led by President Shopkeepers Association, Rehari Colony, Naveen Bali, the inhabitants of the area expressed resentment against the government for not showing serious towards the problems being faced by the people of Jammu.
Those who joined the protest include Rajesh Pal, Ashu Sharma, Neeraj, Vivek, Subash Bakshi, Rakesh Sharma and Ritesh Kumar.
Similarly, the residents of Sarwal Colony staged protest the government seeking improvement in power and water supplies in the winter capital.
Raising slogans against the government, the residents of Sarwal colony said that unscheduled power cuts had made life hell for people during the hot summer months. They alleged that promises of uninterrupted power supply made by the BJP-PDP Government are now proving to be hollow slogans.
Rakjesh Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Situ Devi, Rama Sharma and Anita Devi joined the protest.
The residents and traders of New Plot area under the banner of Jammu West Assembly Movement blocked the traffic at Janipur High Court Road as a mark of protest against the PDD and PHE Departments which have failed to provide water and power supply.
President JWAM, Sunil Dimple said the people of Jammu region have gave mandate to the BJP so that the problems being faced by the people of Jammu region would be resolved. But after came into the power, BJP has failed to provide basic amenities, he added.
Among those who joined the protest include Neeraj Gupta, Amit Gupta, R.P Kohli, Ramesh Chander Kohli, Anmol Kumar, Kalian Singh, Vikram, Sunny, Rang Pal Gupta, Mintoo Kumar, Balak Ram Gupta, Ravi Gupta, Jawar Lal Suri, Sardari Lal Gupta, Rajiv Gupta and others.
Namo Group Foundation also staged protest against long power cuts.
State President P N Pandita, Kuldeep Bhan Secretary, Kimti, Prem and Bantu joined the protest.
