Jammu Mayor reviews cases of leftover beneficiaries under PMAY, pays tribute to PM’s mother

JAMMU: A meeting in connection with saturation of demand/ identification of left over beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban Mission was held in the Council Hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation, here on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Jammu Rajinder Sharma. Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Chairpersons of the committees, Councillors, Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav, officers of JMC and officers from Housing Department and Revenue Department.
Mayor Jammu shared the news of sad demise of Mother of Prime Minister of India, Heeraben Modi. Mayor in his speech while paying his rich tribute quoted the message of Prime Minister’s Mother at her 100th Birthday that “work with wisdom and live with purity”.
He said that today a glorious century rests at the feet of God.
Mayor also paid his rich tributes to the Councillor of Ward 2, Jagdish Kumar Sharma and shared his views that how much Jagdish contributed his best while discharging his duties as a Councillor. Dy. Mayor, Chairman of Standing Committee(s), Councillors, Commissioner, JMC, Officers paid their rich tributes to the Mother of Prime Minister and Councillor of Ward 2 on their demise. Later, the meeting was started which was based on the left over beneficiaries who can take the benefit of PMAY scheme. Most of the Councillors put their queries regarding delay in release of the instalments given to the beneficiaries by the Housing Department by objecting one or the other reasons. Mayor said all councillors to submit their complete forms along with list of beneficiaries in the office of Deputy Mayor. He further added that in future all correspondence shall be made through office of the Dy. Mayor also being the Chairperson of the Housing for All Committee asked all Councillors to submit list of leftover potential beneficiaries to be considered under PMAY (Urban) Mission so that verification of the beneficiaries can be done by the District Level Committee. He also urged the beneficiaries to be covered under this scheme to submit their forms to the councillors of their respective wards.
Mayor directed the Housing Department to ease out the formalities and ensure that no beneficiary to be left under PMAY scheme.
