Jammu Mayor assures to resolve Pension & Electricity issues

JAMMU: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Rajinder Sharma, in presence of J&K BJP General Secretary & former Minister Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, held a Janata Darbar at BJP Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
In the Darbar, the Mayor attended to a large number of grievances put forth by the visiting deputations and individuals.
Various deputations and individuals from different wards of Jammu city presented their issues. A deputation from Tamal, Bohri, apprised Mayor that earlier their homes were flooded with the water in every rainy season, but after earlier representation, there was no flood water due to the increased depth of Nallah and now they requested for the concrete rebuilding of the same nallah to provide them with a permanent solution.
A school management requested to reduce the user charges due to low student intake.
An NGO of youth appreciated the working of JMC & discussed maneuvers for further steps.
Upon representation regarding street lights, Mayor called Principal Secretary to improve the system for repair of lights as thousands of street lights out of nearly 1 lakh need regular repair.
Mayor assured a deputation from Greater Kailash that their demand for Nallah will be in JMC’s plan in next few months. A deputation of Kashmiri Colony near Kangra Fort apprised that there compound walls have fell as way for water has been blocked by a house upon which Mayor called the UEED to immediately construct first temporary drain and then subsequently concrete drain.
Dr. Devinder Manyal said that the party has initiated a weekly sitting of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor at party office to provide the people an easy way to approach for their different issues.
He informed that the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor will alternatively attend to the public grievances every Wednesday at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, where the common masses can approach with their genuine issues.
Rajinder Sharma, while attending to the grievances, also took up the pension issue and said that the department will seek information subsequently issuing the PHH cards and then the pension matters will be sorted out.
He also told that the camps will be conducted in every Ward to sort out the PDD bill issues and their payments and to aware the masses on the processes.
He said that the check meters will also be installed to check if any jump in meters. He added that a system will also be erected to provide the persons with printed bills who do not possess smart phones. He further said that soon a heavy bill policy will be floated to ease out the burden on the poor people. He said that the JMC’s approach is focused on the solution. He appealed the public to thwart any miscampaign and asked them to be cooperative with the JMC in making the city better.
He also said that any person can directly approach him on the mobile or visit him at JMC office to clear out any doubt or misinformation.
