Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council organises seminar on sports injuries

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council on Saturday organised seminar on sports injuries, here.
The seminar was presented by Dr Sumit Mahajan, MS, DNB, M.Ch (Orthopaedics), who has got specialized training in sports medicine and joint replacement from AIIMS, New Delhi and Germany. Coaches from different sports and games participated in this seminar.
They were educated about various sports injuries, their prevention and cure.
Dr Mahajan laid special emphasis on recent advances in form of arthroscopic or keyhole surgeries, which can give a sports player a new professional life.
Rajan, Divisional Sports Officer, told that such seminars are important to raise the standard of sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
It not only educates them for various sports related problems but also provides remedies for their injuries, he added.
Dr Sumit Mahajan has offered free consultation to all injured sports player and coaches at SDDM Hospital, Channi Himmat, Jammu, for which they earlier have to go outside State for the treatment.
