Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association revives skating rink at Peer Kho

JAMMU: The untiring efforts from the senior skaters and needed support extended by the Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association, the national standard skating rink at Peer Kho, here has been revived.
It took a team of skaters and members of the Association around 65 days to bring the rink in its original shape after the sports facility was inundated by the overflowing Tawi leaving behind layers of mud and filth in the recent floods that caused havoc in the state.
The facility was formally declared open for normal practice and competition by President of the Indiana Roller Skating Club, Bhupinder Singh Raina while Youth BJP leader, Pankaj Verma was Special Guest.
Earlier, briefing the guests and distinguished gathering about the hard work put in by the senior skaters, General Secretary of the Association, P.P Singh was all praise for Aryavir Singh of Roller Athlete Skating Club Jindrah, who, in fact motivating and encouraged others skaters in this two-month long ‘operation clean’.
He also extended thanks to Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal for the support and assistance.
Meanwhile, President of the Association, G.S Khurmi, who could not make it to the function, spoke to the skaters on telephone and complimented them for the exemplary job.
