Jammu girls blanks Baramulla in U-19 Hockey opener

POONCH: District Jammu made it a 9-0 win against Baramulla in the opening match of the inter-district UT level girls (under-14 and under-19) competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Synthetic turf, here today.
Supriya remained in limelight for her four goals while Anjali contributed three to make it a big win for the team. Komal and Kiran were other scorers.
In other match of the day, played in under-14 age group, Jammu lost to district Pulwama 0-2. Khansa Sajad and Toiba Javed were the scorers.
Earlier, the event was declared open by Superintendent of Police, Sachin Gupta amidst interaction with the participating teams and officials of the DYSS.
Earlier, district (DYSS) officer Poonch, Mool Raj Uttam welcomed the guests and presented a brief not of the event.
Among others present included Rupinder Kour (Principal BHSS Poonch), Nirdosh Kumar (Manager Sports Stadium Poonch), Prem Prakash Luthra (Retired district officer of DYSS) and Narjeet Singh (Retired ZPEO) as also Vijay Kumar.
The technical panel comprised by Vikas Sharma, Ruchika Sharma, Ritika Sharma, Kavaldeep Singh and Mohd Shokat.
