Support Apni Party for united J&K, empowerment of people
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Asserting that Jammu mainly feels disempowered with changes post August 5, 2019, Apni Party Senior Vice President and Former Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has appealed people to support Apni Party for its effort to keep both the regions united and fight for the rights of the people i.e., restoration of statehood, protection to jobs and land.
“The people in Jammu region feel disempowered with the constitutional changes post August 5, 2019 in J&K and downgrading of state into a Union Territory has further deepened anger in the plains of the region,” Mir said. Hassan Mir said “The people’s participation in the law making process and in administration in the Union Territory reflect anywhere so the people feel disempowered. In this view, the Apni Party is fighting for their empowerment of the people.”
Mir alongwith senior leaders of Apni Party General Secretary Vijay Bakaya, Provincial President Women Wing, Namrta Sharma, Party Coordinator for Jammu Central, Pranav Shagotra, Abhay Bakaya, Joginder Singh, Advocate Tajinder Singh, RK Lalotra, Vaibhav Mattoo, Dalbir Singh, Vishal Zutshi, Jatinder Singh, Farooq Ahmed, and others.
The Apni Party has fielded Surishta Rani as District Development Council (DDC) candidate at Phallian Mandal in Jammu District. Speaking before the public meeting organised in support of the DDC candidate, Hassan Mir reminded that “Jammu was never separate from Kashmir, and Kashmir never lived alone without Jammu. The people of both the regions are equally dependent upon each other.”
“The peaceful co-existence and development is the agenda of the Apni Party and the people have extended their support to the party. The people have tired with the traditional political parties which have befooled them for decades,” said Mir and added that “There is lack of development, hardly any employment opportunities, power crises, and clean drinking water is still an issue for the common masses.”
“If the Apni Party is voted to power, they will ensure development, clean drinking water and electricity in all the villages of J&K,” he assured. He called upon the youth to come forward to lead the erstwhile state and support the party in its mission to make J&K financially strong, generate employment opportunities and equal rights to all the people. Former MLC and Apni Party General Secretary, Vijay Bakaya said that “Elections for DDC is a historic step to take democracy to the gross-root level and exhorted the audience to vote in. Bakaya explained to the people that the DDC could address the felt needs of the area through their elected representatives and accelerate the pace of development. The Provincial President Women Wing, Namrta Sharma was concerned over the underdevelopment in the Phallian Mandal area.
“The BJP, and other political parties in Jammu who claimed to be the real voice of Dogra have failed to provide even better livelihood opportunities to the people few km away from the City,” said Namrta.
Namrta said that the people should have good health care facilities and education systems and the previous Govts have failed to deliver on the ground. “We will work for the development and improvement in infrastructure like road connectivity, lanes and drains, and health facilities for the women and elderly persons especially at their doorstep,” she said. Speaking on the occasion, Party Coordinator for Jammu Central, Pranav Shagotra said that the party has been working for the youth in J&K and they were the future of the country.
“There is a need for the youth to come forward and generate employment for others as well. The Govt has failed to make sure the start-up schemes can take off. The youth are not aware about the schemes launched by the government since concerned departments hardly go to the ground,” Shagotra said.
He said that the people should understand that they have to come out and take small initiatives to set an example for others.
