JAMMU: Jammu zone shall take on Jourian-Khour in the final of ongoing inter-zonal district level under-19 boys cricket competition, organised by the Depa-rtment of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), at GGM Science College Ground, here tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, played on Friday, Jammu defeated Satwari Zone by five wickets. Batting first, Satwari made 89 runs in allotted 15 overs. Nikhil (44), Harmohit (16) and Harsh (14) were main contributors to the total. For Jammu, Deepak, Abhinav and Samad shared two wickets each. In reply, Jammu maintained the required run rate and attained the goal of 90 runs in 14.2 overs losing five wickets. Samad (27), Arab (16) and Raj Partap (11) were top scorers. Sourav, Pavit and Anurag shared a wicket each.
In other semifinal, Jourian-Khour Zone outplayed Akhnoor Chowki- Choura Zone by one wicket in a close contest. After winning the toss and batting first, Akhnoor- Chowki Choura was bowled out for 44 runs in 11.3 overs. Satyam of Akhnoor remained the top scorer with 15 runs, while Abhishek took three wickets, followed by Abhinav and Robin, who shared two each.
Later, Jourian- Khour Zone achieved the target in 11.2 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Vikas and Abhishek scored 14 and 10 runs respectively. Aman , Sahil and Deepak took three wickets each for Akhnoor- Chowki Choura.
The semifinals were officiated by the technical panel comprising Saleem-ul-rehman, Sadhik Hussain, Suresh Singh, Madan Mohan, Farooq Ahmed, Jagtar Singh and Satika Sharma.
