JAMMU: Jammu East BJP MLA Rajesh Gupta must be feeling elated today after what Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh said about him during the Maha Sampark Abhiyan function, which was held in Jammu for expanding the support-base of the party. About 70 BJP activists were present on the occasion. Since the function was organised in the constituency of Rajesh Gupta and since it was, according to the party, a “very successful function”, many speakers hailed Rajesh Gupta for his remarkable role. However, it was Jitendra Singh who was happy with the performance of Rajesh Gupta. He was so happy that he termed Rajesh Gupta “Jugaadu”, which means manipulator. He didn’t call him “Jhajharu” (bold, ever active and energetic). Interestingly, Jitendra Singh didn’t clarify his compliment, which he used for Rajesh Gupta, which means he actually meant what he said about the MLA. It also meant respectability for those who manipulate for getting their work done. One can hope others in the BJP would also perform in the manner Rajesh Gupta has been performing so that they are also termed “Jugaadu”.
The MoS in PMO is not an ordinary politician and ordinary Minister. Besides being an astute politician, able administrator and great communicator, he is also a scholar of first rate. He is not a loose talker. His selection of words is always proper and he uses a proper language at a proper place for a proper person. It was not for nothing that he called Rajesh Gupta “Jugaadu”. It was his well-considered and well thought out compliment for the MLA. Perhaps, it was for the first time that someone recognised the qualities of Rajesh Gupta. He should feel grateful to Jitendra Singh for his recognition by an important minister in the PMO and a great leader of the BJP, which a couple of days ago was termed by Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brian as “Bharatiya Bakwas Party”.
