JAMMU: New 11-member managing committee of Jammu Club for the term 2024-2026 elected on Sunday. Er Pooja Kohli secured the highest number of votes in closely fought elections for the managing committee of the prestigious Jammu Club.
Eleven out of 22 contestants were elected wherein Er Pooja Kohli topped by securing 1788 votes followed by Indu Puri (1730 votes), Sidharth Samnotra (1720 votes), Dr. Ritesh Gupta (1664 votes), Kavita Gupta (1617 votes), Vikram Dhawan (1585 votes), Meenakshi Kotwal (1546 votes), Dr. Heema Gandotra Jandial (1510 votes), Ashwani Gupta (1463 votes), Er. Ashok Gandotra (1424 votes) and Karan Khosa (1351 votes).
Out of total 2754 votes, 2682 votes were declared valid while 72 were declared invalid. The candidates, who could not make it to the Committee, included Iqbal Singh (1305 votes), Er. Rajan Gupta (1249 votes), Sanjay Kakkar ((1234 votes), Er. Ashok Sharma (1215 votes), Karan Anand (1212 votes), Dr. Sandeep Singh (1173 votes), Dr. Dushyant Choudhary (1017 votes), Dr. Varinder Sharma (993 votes), Er. Jai Gopal Mengi (973 votes), Er. Rakesh Sharma ( 869 votes), and Rajinder Kumar Bali (864 votes).
In a statement, spokesman of the Club said, “Election to the Managing Committee for the term 2024-2026 were held on Sunday. The Election were conducted by a team headed by Vinod Gupta as Returning Officer and assisted by Ejaz Ahmed Tak and Manmohan Singh as Election Advisors.”
“The members of the Club participated in the election process with great enthusiasm and exercised their voting right. The voting process was held in a peaceful manner and was possible because of the assistance provided by District Administration, Jammu Police, Fire Brigade and Traffic Department,” spokesman said.
