Jammu Bar to support judicial infrastructure development in Raika

JAMMU: Executive of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu in one voice approved/passed resolution to pursue with the Chief Justice of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Govt. of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Law Minister for shifting of all the Subordinate Courts/ Tribunals / Central Administrative Tribunals and other Forums alongwith proposed shifting of High Court at Raika.
In a meeting of held under the chairmanship of Vikram Sharma Sr. Advocate and President J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu approx 350 lawyers, the members of the Bar in one voice approved / passed the aforesaid resolution.
The Executive Members authorized President of the Association to take all the steps necessary for representing the cause of the Bar for shifting of subordinate court complex at Raika or in close vicinity of the proposed High Court complex.
It may be recalled that the members of the Jammu Bar Association had moved two requisitions one opposing the shifting of High Court Complex to Raika and another requisition was for shifting of all the Subordinate Courts / Tribunals etc alongwith High Court to Raika.
In a well debated session, the senior members of the Bar Association welcomed the coming up of the High Court Complex at Raika and also suggested shifting of other Courts to same place or a place close to its vicinity at Raika.
The requisition against the shifting of High Court Complex at Raika was supported only by 10 members, whereas the full house of the Executive rejected the requisition opposing the shifting of High Court at Raika.
During the meeting the senior members of the Bar in one voice lambasted the ruckus created by the handful of lawyers yesterday in the office of President, J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu, when some members of the bar created indiscipline and a serious view was taken by the members of the Bar.
The members of the Bar strongly condemned the indiscipline created by the handful of lawyers.
Senior Advocate U.K. Jalali, Sunil Sethi and others took strong note of the ruckus created in the office Chamber of the President Bar Association Jammu and sought disciplinary action against the Lawyers who failed to maintain discipline while interacting with the office bearers of the Bar Association.
There was a complete unanimity in the Executive that such unruly behavior and indiscipline will not be tolerated and the President J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu was fully authorized to take disciplinary action against the misconduct created by them, they said.
During the meeting, Sr. Advocate Vikarm Sharma assured the members that Bar Association Jammu will take all steps to maintain glory of the bar and sentiments in the bar for shifting all the courts to Raika or to its close vicinity.
Jammu Bar President further submitted that some members of the bar for their certain vested interest have conducted in a manner unbecoming of a members of the prestigious Association and has further submitted that a social media platform is being abused to malign the image of the Bar and its office bearers.
Advocate Bhavishya Sudan, during his address in the executive meeting tendered apology for his nasty messages on Whatsapp Group on his behalf and on behalf of other members who have been resorting to such defamatory and derogatory messages and memes.
The Senior Members of the Bar in one voice snubbed such members and deprecated unruly behavior of these few lawyers, and, authorized the Office Bearers to proceed against them for their misconduct .
All those present in the meeting rejected the requisition moved by Advocate Arvind Bandral seeking opposition to the shifting of the High Court Complex to Raika with only ten votes in his favour, whereas in other requisition moved by Advocate Atul Raina seeking shifting of High Court Complex at Raika alongwith other Courts / Tribunals etc was passed unanimously.
All the speakers except two, asserted that after the orders passed by the NGT and Supreme Court of India, the development of the infrastructure cannot be protested as Judicial order cannot be protested by the professional Lawyers on roads.
It is important to mention here that Senior Members of the Bar, Sunil Sethi, U K Jalali,. D.S. Choudhan, Sudershan Sharma, Subodh Singh Jamwal in one voice conveyed that strong disciplinary action should be taken as against the lawyers, who yesterday created ruckus in the office of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu.
Sunil Sethi Sr. adv. asserted that the elected President is a fatherly figure for every member irrespective of his age and must be respected by one and all.
