Jammu Bar Association calls for greater security to Medicos in India

Protests against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

JAMMU: The President of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ), Sr. Advocate Vikram Sharma, in collaboration with the Young Lawyers Association, on Tuesday lodged a strong protest against the inhuman and barbaric incident of rape and gruesome murder of a trainee medico in RG Kar Medical College Kolkata.
The protest was held in the court premises, attended by large number of senior and young lawyers. The lawyers raised slogans against the inadequacy of the security made available in the Hospital premises, particularly when young female doctors / trainees, have extended working hours late into the night. The lawyers demanded speedy and effective investigation.
They welcomed the suo-moto cognizance by the Supreme Court of India of the incident and felt assured that under the super vision of the Apex Court, the loopholes shall be plugged in time, and a target oriented investigation becomes assured.
The lawyers also welcomed the setting up of a National Task Force (NTF) to evolve modalities to ensure safety to the medicos.
The lawyers also protested against the atrocities on minority Hindus in Bangladesh where horrific incidents of brutalities are being reported on Hindus on daily basis. The president of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take affective steps to stop the atrocities being perpetrated on Hindus particularly the females and the children.
The protest was attended by Advocate Parvesh Singh Salaria (General Secretary), Adv. Chetan Misri (Joint secretary), of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu and the office bearers of YLA Rohit Sharma (President YLA), Gagandeep Singh Lucky (Vice President YLA) alongwith large number of member Advocates.
