JAMMU: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation organized sixth State Level Painting Competition on theme ‘Protect Ground Water and Rivers from Pollution’ at Tawi River Front Park here on Wednesday.
The competition was followed by a prize distribution function at Indian Institute of Integrated Medicines here.
In this competition, a total of 50 students of classes 6th to 8th standard participated.
Jahanvi Choudhary, a class 8th student of JK Public School Jammu won the first prize of Rs 5,000, Verindera Bhagat of Class 7th (Heritage School Jammu) won the second prize of Rs 3,000 and Taniya Sharma of class 7th (Army Public School Samba) won the third prize of Rs 2,000.
The welcome address was presented by J.N Bhagat, Head of Office, Central Ground Water Board, North Western Himalayan Region Jammu.
The function was attended by Subash Anand, Mohammad Akram Khan and Richa Gupta as jury members.
Besides all the organisers of the function, the Scientists of the Central Ground Water Board Jammu namely A.K Murdia, Rayees Ahmad Pir, Dhanprakash, Jitesh Tatiwal, Vinod Sharma, Priya Kanwar and Shaista Khan and parents and teachers of the students were also present.
The anchoring of the function was done by Rayees Ahmad Pir, Scientist of the Central Ground Water Board. The vote of thanks was presented by Vinod Sharma, Scientist of the Central Ground Water Board.
