JAMMU: The agitation launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) entered 80th day at Jagti on Sunday.
Addressing the protestors, JTC and SKF president, Shadi Lal Pandita said the agitation launched on October 2 this year will continue till the demands are resolved.
“We have been protesting in Jagti township for 80 days but the Government is not meeting our demands. The monthly cash relief of Kashmiri migrant relief holders is very low who are totally dependent on cash doles from the Government after losing their livelihood due to mass exodus of the community”, Pandita said.
He demanded the cash assistance be increased to Rs 25,000 per family per month. Besides, the Government should provide employment to the educated youth in those families which have no serving Government employees, he added.
He demanded Government 20,000 job package for displaced youth with 5000 class IV posts for those migrant youth who could not continue their education due to poverty and pangs of migration.
