JAC hails government for disallowing private members Bill on reservation in promotions

POONCH: A largely attended meeting of Joint Acton Committee(General Category) was organised at Dak Bungalow Poonch under the chairmanship of Er Saleem Bandey, Convener JAC Poonch, in which members of general category hailed government for disallowing private members Bill on reservation in promotions. They thanked Law Minister Abdul Haq Khan who informed the House that the discussion on the Bill cannot be held as the case is Subjudice in the Supreme Court. The speakers said that by not allowing the said Bill, government has realised that the cause of general category employees is genuine and that’s why, government did not interfere in Supreme court’s earlier judgments. Meanwhile the members also lashed out over the behaviour of general category legislators. They said some legislators of general category supported the reserved category for vote bank politics and they should be ready to taste the consequences in future.
Speaking on the occasion, Er Saleem Bandey said that the JAC is thankful to students, business community, lawyers, doctors, women folk and people from other professions who supported the struggle with all means.
The proceeding of the meeting were conducted by Zaki Hyder. Various speakers spoke on the occasion which included Ajeet Singh Jeet, Babar rather, Darshan Bharti, Lekh Raj Dutta, Parvesh Chadha, Jaleel khawaja, Pankaj Maini, Arun kapoor, Bhushan Sharma, Dr Puneet kar, Satvir kumar(Satti), Surinder Singh and others.
