JAMMU: 29-member Jammu and Kashmir team on Saturday left for participation in the 34th North Zone Shooting Championship 2014 to be held at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi from 26th October to 2nd November, 2014.
The championship is being organised by the National Rifle Association of India in which teams from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir are taking part in .177 Air Rifle, Air Pistol and .22 rifle events for men and women.
The State team is being sponsored by State Sports Council.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association had organised a coaching camp for the selected shooters of State at Delhi Public School Shooting Range under the supervision of Depika Singh Assistant Coach, Jammu and Kashmir State.
Divisional Sports Officer Rajan Sharma who was the Chief Guest on the occasion wished good luck to the State team.
Additional Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, who is also President of JKRA, General Secretary, Sudhir Kumar, K.S Jamwal, Senior Vice President, Sharat Chander Singh Treasurer, Sohan Lal Vice President of the JKRA, Pankaj Sharma, Joint Secretary, Executive Members, C.J.M Masrat Shaheen , Taranjeet Singh Tony, SP R.K Bhat, Sanjeev Kanwar and Suminder Singh have wished good luck to the team.

Surjeet Singh will accompany the team as Coach cum player while Sukhbir Singh as Manager.
