Ist phase EVM training begins

ANANTNAG: District Election Officer (DEO), Anantnag on Saturday started the first phase of EVM training from Government Degree College Anantnag. The first phase of training is being conducted at six training centers all around the district including Govt. Degree College Anantnag, GDC, Dooru, GDC, Bijbehara, Town Hall Kokernag, Achabal and JNV Aishmuqam for 12,000 government employees of the district.
District Election Officer Anantnag said that free fair and transparent elections will be ensured in all the Six Assembly Segments of the district, the fool proof arrangements for which are being finalised and will be completed before the issuance of election notification on 19th November, 2014.
District Election Officer further asked the employees to equip themselves with each and every aspect of EVM functioning including filling of necessary documents and other prescribed forms so that no problem is faced during the actual practical election process on 14th December, 2014.
District Election Officer further clarified that adherence to Model Code of Conduct on part of every concerned will be ensured and any deviation on this part will be dealt as per the rule of law. He said that for this purpose various Flying Squads and Video Surveillance Teams have been framed for all six constituencies of the district which have been directed to report to the concerned authorities on daily basis. DEO appealed all political parties to strictly adhere to MCC in letter and spirit.
The six Assembly constituencies of the district including Dooru, Kokernag, Shangus, Bijbehara, Pahalgam and Anantnag are going to the polls on 14th December, 2014 in 4th phase, the notification for which is being issued on 19th November, 2014.
