INTUC protests for pending demands

UDHAMPUR: The employees of different departments under the banner of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) assembled at PHE Station Banian and took out procession which passed through Saiathia Chowk, Mukherjee Bazaar Gole Market, Town Hall, MH Chowk and culminated at Ragunath Palace Ground in the shape of rally.
Led by Som Nath District President INTUC Udhampur and Senior Vice President PHE Employees Association Jammu Province, a large number of employees drawn from Ramnagar, Majalta, Dudu, Basantgarh, Majoun, Chenani, Kud, Patnitop, Latti-Dhuna, Panchari, Bhomag, Mansar, Majalta, Katra, Panthal, Garhi Rehmbal, Jib-Thathi and other far-flung areas of the district participated in the protest rally.
They raised slogans against the government and highlighted demands which include regularisation of dally wagers / contractual employees working in different departments and completed five years of services, implementation of Minimum Wages Act and reflow of pending wages of workers in many departments. They also demanded that Govt must release the wages regularly, besides enhance Medical Allowance from Rs. 300.00 to Rs 1,000.
Som Nath appealed to Govt to fulfill the long pending genuine demands of the workers and employees of various departments or be ready for agitation in case the same are not settled at the earliest.
Others who spoke on the occasion Vljay Sharma, Rattan Singh, Suraj Parkash, Tej Bhadur Anil Gupta, All Hussain, Ram Parshad, Baldev Raj, Chuni Lal, Makhan Chand, Jagdish Magotra Krishan Chand, Chunl Lal, Subash Chander, Rajinder Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Shiv Lal and Raj Kumar.
